A while back we started a series called High Praise — spotlights on the budtenders who make this industry actually work. Then we got busy rolling. The series is officially back, monthly, and bigger: budtenders and store teams from every province Choklit Park calls home.

Why Budtenders

Nobody in legal cannabis has more influence and less spotlight than the person behind the counter. Budtenders translate lab numbers into plain language, steer first-timers away from mistakes, and decide in about four seconds whether a new brand gets recommended or gathers dust. Every brand in Canada lives or dies on their word — ours included. The least we can do is put some shine on the people doing it well.

What a Spotlight Looks Like

Each month we feature one budtender or floor team: who they are, how they got into cannabis, how they think about guiding customers, and their honest take on what's exciting (and what's overhyped) on shelves right now. Photos, links to their shop, the works.

We feature people from any store, whether or not Choklit Park is on your shelf. (Though if it isn't, your manager can fix that — BC stores can order direct from West Blvd Cannabis through the BC Direct Delivery program.)
