Introduce yourself and what do you do?

My name is Nick Sanders, I am the Founder and CEO of Highdeal Solutions. We are a one stop shop for cannabis producers, processors, and extractors, providing cost-effective compliant packaging, design services, and marketing materials for our clients.

Can you share any turning points in your career or particular moments of success?

I have been blessed to be surrounded by a number of successful people and family members that gave me guidance during my career. I would say the biggest turning point was taking the action to create Highdeal. I was working in a cannabis dispensary, handling internal packaging and branding for our products. I had a hard time sourcing what we needed, or finding companies that catered to what we were looking for at the time. I took the chance and started Highdeal and 5 years later we service some of the top brands in Canada. It has been a challenging ride to say the least, but we have had a lot of fun along the way.

Describe your cannabis use in 3 words.

Indica. Chill. Frequent.

Describe the impact Cannabis has had on your life?
Cannabis has had a profound impact on my life. It’s kind of funny, I actually used to be very anti- weed in my teenage years. The turning point for me was after a car accident at the age of 18.

I was in bad shape after the accident, and I still deal with issues stemming from that accident to this day. At the time I had gone to see my doctor and was prescribed a myriad of medications that sounded terrible. I was cautioned that some of these medications could cause liver failure if taken more then 10 days in a row, and naturally I had no interest in finding out if I would be one of the lucky few that suffered no problems. After leaving the doctor I had reached out to an old family friend that had started to use cannabis after his own car accident. He educated me on the benefits of the plant, and the relief he had seen from it. That was the point when I took steps to try CBD and THC products in order to alleviate some of my pain. To my surprise, it helped exponentially, and from that point on it became is something that I use daily to help me.  From that point on I became an advocate for cannabis, and it’s been my passion to help others and evolve the industry ever since.

“I always smoke before I work out. I really like the focus I get when doing so, and have been doing that for a while.”

Where and when were you introduced to cannabis for the first time?

If I recall correctly, it was grade 10 in high school. A couple of friends and myself had gone for a walk down to a local park during lunch break and they were avid cannabis users. I remember taking a puff of the joint and not feeling anything. About a week later we had done the same thing and at that point I remember the craziest feeling at the time and ended up going home sick for the rest of the day.

What’s your favourite post-smoke activity? Workout? Food?

I always smoke before I work out. I really like the focus I get when doing so, and have been doing that for a while. If I’m just at home hanging out it’s nice to relax, eat some good food, maybe play some video games (assuming I have time, which is very limited these days haha!). For the most part, I smoke before bed, and it really helps me relax and sleep.

What music do you vibe to when using Cannabis?

It’s a mix between Hip hop and R&B. I do enjoy a number of genres, so I am pretty good with anything. I like to think I’m pretty easy going.

“I like using oils and topicals… especially CBD. At night; I have trouble sleeping and find it helps me best.”

If you could sesh with one person dead or alive, who would it be?

I would say Berner I think. He really is an inspiration to the cannabis industry and has done a lot to enhance the market over the last few years. His brand Cookies is arguably one of the best-known brands worldwide, and I would love to pick his brain.

What are your favourite ways to consume cannabis (joints, vapes, edibles, beverages etc.) and why?

I have to say, I am a bong guy. I do like joints too but nothing hits like a nice bong toke.
